The Cedar Rapids hog market Friday rose 50 cents on butchers while packers stayed steady. Bulk country and plant delivered butchers 200 to 230 pounds brought 47.00 to 47.50, with various weight-based reductions for heavier hogs. Packing sows around 300 pounds sold 39.50 to 40.75. Butchers 230 to 240 pounds were down 25 cents, heavier cuts declined up to 1 dollar per 10 pounds, and packers faced similar scale drops. The Cedar Rapids sheep market fell about 1.00 with spring lambs 54.00 to 56.00. lambs over 100 pounds discounted.
