Rae Jeanne Kilberger, lifelong Cedar Rapids resident, partners with Linn County Conservation to create the Rae Jeanne Kilberger Foundation nature preserve. The 140 acre site honors her grandparents and preserves open green space for the public.

Iowa receives 6 million NSF grant for extreme weather study
The University of Iowa lands a 6 million dollar NSF grant to a four year project placing about 500 UK designed weather sensors in Iowa Nebraska Arkansas and Kansas fields and neighborhoods. The sensors measure soil and air temperature and humidity to predict extreme weather and aid water management and conservation in rural communities with Kansas State University professor Xiaomao Lin also involved.

State hires for new Iowa special education division
