Stone returns home after Nicaragua talks

U S special envoy Richard Stone wrapped up a 10 day tour with hourlong talks in Managua meeting Sandinista leaders and Daniel Ortega before heading back to Washington. Officials called the discussions useful and preliminary steps toward possible talks on rebel participation in elections with no power sharing. Ruben Zamora of the FDR said the session was a first step toward a political solution and urged a plenary meeting with Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front representatives.
