The Wild Bunch review notes big cast and excess violence
A Warner Brothers Seven Arts release, The Wild Bunch stars Holden Borgnine O'Brien with Oates and Johnson. Set in 1913 South Texas and Northern Mexico, the story contrasts outlaws with a failing myth of honor amid sensational carnage. The critic admires the cast but finds the film overlong and morally blunt, predicting box office success but limited artistic impact.
