Mr and Mrs Louis L Hill of Postville and Louis Hill Jr 1300 Oakland Rd NE will return Monday by plane from a Europe tour. They stayed with Lt and Mrs Frank Dulong in Oosterbeek Holland and traveled through Holland Belgium Germany Switzerland Italy and France returning from Paris after Sunday.
Mr and Mrs D C Arnold and children Nancy Susan and John David of 394 Twenty fifth Street SE and Mr and Mrs Kenneth Klippel and daughters Karen and Janet of 3045 Canton Drive SE returned Sunday from a two weeks vacation in Minnesota.

Miss Anne Mallon, awaiting her Aug 20 marriage to Allen Lethbridge, is honored with multiple showers. A bridge luncheon and crystal shower for 18 guests occurred at the Roosevelt hotel hosted by Mrs. Thomas Donovan of Chicago and Mrs. John Welch. A Navy office women’s shower for 20 will be held in Nick’s restaurant party room. Last week Mrs. Joseph Petrezelka sponsored a crystal shower for eight at 1410 Third Avenue SF.
Miss Carol Morgan received a miscellaneous shower at 529 First Avenue SW hosted by Mrs. Vernon Fisher and Miss Laura Conrad. Twenty one guests attended in honor of the forthcoming marriage to Richard Klimes scheduled for September 3.
Kenneth Collins hosted a Saturday outing at Lake Macbride for his son Michael celebrating his fourteenth birthday. The group enjoyed swimming and boating before refreshments were served by Marie Collins, the grandmother.
Mrs. James Spencer of 318 First Avenue NW returns home after a two week visit to California. She visited her sister in Needles and her son Terry and family in Palo Alto where Terry works toward a doctorate at Stanford. She was accompanied by sister Mrs Irene Roman of New London Wisconsin.
In Los Angeles hair stylist Samuel Dicaro unveiled the Daisy Crockett, a feminine coiffure featuring a long back section resembling a boonskin cap tail and a touch of bleach to complete the effect. Dicaro demonstrated the look Monday as a new trend in fashionable hair shaping.
New York fashion notes spotlight blanket plaid fabrics expanding beyond home decor to dresses hats and handbags. Tina Leser started the look with plaid dress and skinny pants designs followed by Sally Victor blanket hats and several bag makers joining the trend. Designers favor loud red yellow and black combos with lightweight blanket cashmere used for dresses and accessories including tote style bags and blanket hats in various styles.
The Merchandise Mart hosts a Chicago gift market with 950 lines of new items. Exhibits include home decor, formal and casual dining pieces, whimsical gifts, and holiday decorations set for national stores next fall. Visitors see boutique jeweled pieces, novelty piggy banks, Davy Crockett party balls, and new casual entertaining tables plus hand blown stemware and festive cards.

The bride wore white crystalette with a lace trimmed veil and carried orchids and lilies of the valley. The couple plan to reside at 1220 I Third Ave SE after a Lake Geneva honeymoon. she studies nursing, he a Coe College senior in commerce.
The seventh session opens with 153 campers under the theme We Gather Round Our Laughing Fire To Sing Our Songs Once More. The campers council chosen Sunday met Monday to plan the week. a riding show on August 13 will climax the camp’s activities.
Mrs. George Shearer of Park Ridge Minnesota and Mrs. James Colbert hosted a bridal shower for Miss Nancy Shearer at St Wenceslaus church hall Thursday evening. About 100 guests attended as Miss Shearer, the August bride elect of James B Colbert Jr., plans her wedding. Shearer later visited her mother-in-law Mrs Eleanor Shearer at 1028 Fifteenth Avenue SE before leaving Saturday for home.

Miss Mari Ann Witter and LeRoy R. Skaar were married Sunday at 2 p.m. in Giard Methodist church McGregor with double ring rites. The couple will reside in South San Gabriel California after September 1. Skaar served 29 months in Germany.

Judge Charles Penningroth officiated. 85 guests attended. The couple will reside in Cedar Rapids where Mrs Revers works for Hack Brothers and Mr Revers for Square D.
Sandra Smejkal 3240 Dalewood Avenue SE returned home Friday from a three week visit in Colonial Heights Virginia Her parents Louis and Mrs Smejkal hosted a slumber party for six guests to celebrate her thirteenth birthday.
