Kenwood Ditch Sewer Project Faces Prolonged Delays
City officials twice revised the Kenwood Ditch storm sewer plan from a three year target to a 1.5 year goal, citing funding difficulties after a 1972 federal grant program was canceled by President Nixon. With 4.5 miles of pipe costing 8 to 10 million dollars, federal revenue sharing funds were sought as essential finance.
