Veteran actor Ed Begley dies at 69 in Hollywood
Oscar winner Ed Begley veteran character actor died at 69 after a heart attack at a party hosted by publicist Jay Bernstein in Hollywood. Begley, born in Hartford Connecticut in 1901, starred on stage screen and radio from the 1930s onward and left a legacy as a versatile performer with notable works including Sweet Bird of Youth Twelve Angry Men and It Happens Every Spring. He is survived by his widow Helen and children Ed Jr and Maureen.
