Floodcaster guitar finished after 47 years in Cedar Rapids
Mark Meyer, 63, completed the unfinished Floodcaster guitar he began in 1963. Flooded in 2008, he dried the wood for 18 months and applied 20 coats of lacquer while preserving era components. The project healed past struggles and celebrates perseverance through hardship.

Iowa National Guard to deploy 3000 to Afghanistan for security
