The Iowa City school board hired Stephen Murley 43, currently superintendent of the Wausau district in Wisconsin, to take over in July. Murley praised the Iowa City community and public education support while board President Patti Fields noted unanimous support. Two Minnesota finalists were Brad Meeks and Mark Bezek. Murley will replace Lane Plugge who leaves in June.
