Four teen young cherry trees gifts from Japan will be planted on the Iowa statehouse lawn May 6 as thanks for an Iowa sponsored church. Des Moines Police raid nets 32 arrests at sneak liquor joint
Des Moines police and the state narcotics bureau arrested 32 people at a sneak liquor joint in a house described by officers as a disorderly venue. Among those held were musicians at a jam session and Orville Cox and his wife facing charges for operating a disorderly house with hearings set for May 11. Bond ranged from 100 to 400 dollars. several pled guilty and were fined. A .22 revolver was found in Coxs car leading to an additional weapon charge.
