Iowa forecast shows increasing cloudiness and warmer temps with showers possible Tuesday night and Wednesday. Jacob Bennett of Anamosa faced a reckless driving charge in municipal court. Judge James Patterson fined him 25 dollars plus costs after a Saturday incident at First Avenue and Park Court SE where Bennett allegedly rear ended a stopped car and struck a third vehicle.

George H. Allen 69 of 1521 Thirtieth street SE Cedar Rapids died in a local hospital after a two month illness. He was born in Dumont April 27 1885 and farmed in the area. Survived by Bertha Delp Allen his wife three sons Lt Col George E Allen Ralph and Dwight a daughter a sister four brothers and 12 grandchildren. Memorial services are set for Monday at Murdoch funeral home Marion and Tuesday at Union Ridge church west of Dumont with burial in Harlan Cemetery.
Antonie Plucar Koutny 86 died at 9 p.m. Sunday at her son Joseph Plucar’s Cedar Rapids home. Born in Brandlin Czechoslovakia on August 10 1868 she immigrated to the United States in 1903 and lived in Cedar Rapids 40 years. She was affiliated with the Czech Evangelical and Reformed church. Surviving are her son Frank Plucar and two granddaughters plus four great grandchildren. Services at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Czech Evangelical and Reformed church with burial in National Cemetery Vining Iowa. Friends may visit Janeba funeral home Tuesday after 3 p.m. and before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Contributions may be made to the church fund.
Sarah Jane Dodd 83, of 1118 Avenue NW died Saturday night after a long illness at her daughter's home in Cedar Rapids. She was born October 26, 1871 in Melbourne Arkansas and leaves seven children, 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. The body was moved to Land Carter funeral home in Mammoth Spring Arkansas for services and burial. Mrs J L Olson 229 Third Street NW Cedar Rapids died Monday morning after a long illness. Born September 18 1876 in Glasgow Scotland she came to Cedar Rapids from Fairfax. Surviving are two daughters Myrene Wilson and Bernice Mullin and six sons. Burial will be in Linwood cemetery with services at Turner chapel by Rev D Keith Irwin. Burial plans, friends may call.
Clara Elaine Taylor six month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Chaddwick Robert Taylor of 1230 Sixth Street NW Cedar Rapids died in a Cedar Rapids hospital at 1125 p m Saturday after a long illness She was born in Cedar Rapids on October 13 1954 Surviving besides her parents are three half sisters Pauline Mease Cedar Rapids Sandra and Sheryl Spencer at home and two half brothers Rich

The Beatty-Bearle chapel will conduct a service at 1 pm Tuesday by Rev. Frank H. Ward. Burial follows at Spencer's Grove cemetery, three miles north of Walker. Friends may visit the chapel after 7 pm Monday.
Frank J. Kimes, 78, Cedar Rapids native for most of his life, died Sunday morning at Administration Hospital in Long Beach, California. A Spanish American War veteran, he moved to California about five years ago. Services and burial will be in Long Beach. He is survived by a brother Louis Kimes of Cedar Rapids, who died April 8, and many nieces and nephews, several in Cedar Rapids.

Services for Mrs Charles Schmidt of Watkins will be held at 9 am Tuesday at St Patrick's church in Watkins with Rev Maurice Tracy officiating. Burial follows at St Michael's cemetery in Norway. The Altar and Rosary Society will recite the Rosary at 7 30 pm Monday at the Schmidt residence, with Father Tracy at 8.
Services for Lloyd W. Stone of Cedar Rapids who ran Stone's Truck Service and lived at 1723 K avenue NE for 36 years will be held Tuesday at 1 30 p m in Turner chapel with Rt Rev Msgr J D Kearn presiding. Burial is in Mt Calvary cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
