Carl H. Fraverd 59 of Benton Harbor Michigan died at his home after a sudden illness. Born June 10 1894 in West Union he married Vera Miller April 30 1930 in Nevada Iowa. He worked about 30 years in the monument business and held district manager posts in Iowa Michigan and northern Indiana. Surviving are his wife his mother and a brother. Services set for Sunday at Dean and Dey Brothers funeral home and Tuesday in Cedar Rapids with Mizpah lodge conducting burial at Linwood Cemetery. Master Masons urged to attend.

Two Eastern Iowans Hurt in Auto Crash

IOWA CITY Patrolman Richard Lee rode a runaway horse bareback from Lafayette street to the city sales barn after workmen at the sewage plant restrained the animal. The horse, claimed by Charles Grimm, was described as gentle by Lee who pursued it to prevent a repeat escape.
