Pittsburgh AP reports United States Steel workers win a $1 daily raise for 140,000 employees in five subsidiaries under a two year deal reached by CIO President Murray and US Steel VP Stephens. The accord raises weekly pay to about $58.50 and hourly wage to $1.47 with benefits. the agreement covers Carnegie-Illinois, American Steel and Wire, Columbia, National Tube, and Tennessee Coal and Railroad.
