New York based Challenger Gray & Christmas reports 40 percent of 170 615 layoffs in the first quarter were announced on a Monday. Employers totaling 150 firms announced 67 487 of the cuts on Mondays, a higher share than any other weekday.

Ann Arbor couple claim Jessica’s status as their psychological parents grants a right to a hearing on custody. They argue constitutional protection extends to nonbiological family bonds and due process for the child. The appeal seeks reversal of a Court of Appeals ruling that awarded custody to the Schmidts.
