Two Plead Guilty To Drunk Driving
Two men pled guilty to drunk driving on Monday. George R. Rich and Ross B. Breed faced penalties from Judge Charles Penningroth, with Rich a second offender and Breed a first offense. Additional drunk driving charges were filed against Raymond Everett and Frank Deshau, both jailed over the weekend. Rich was cited for a Saturday collision near Central City. Breed struck a cab driver’s car in Marion. Everett sideswiped a Mt. Vernon student’s parked car. Deshau was arrested in Central City late Saturday.

No New Truck for Conservation Unit
DES MOINES AP The State Conservation Commission was turned down by the Executive Council Monday on proposed purchase of two trucks. They now have more motor vehicles than any department except the highway commission. Gov William S Beardsley said the council continued its policy of buying state cars for employees to use on state business who have been using their own and charging mileage. This is done where employees travel more than 12 000 miles a year. The purchase of 10 cars for the State Tax Commission was approved.
