Marion Water Department to flush system nightly through May 6
Crews will flush the water system after 8 p.m. starting in central Marion and moving outward. Residents may see temporary discoloration and should avoid laundry after 8 p.m. or if redness occurs. If redness appears, minimize hot water use to prevent buildup in heaters. Iron sediment causes the rusty color and flushing removes it. Call (319) 377-4839 with questions.
