Iowa veterans and families received 80,315,330 in cash benefits and services in fiscal 1958. Compensation for service connected disabilities and pensions totaled 33,801,838 for 39,648 living veterans, while death benefits reached 10,599,459 for 12,639 deceased veterans. G I insurance payments totaled 5,878,254, with 13,470,681 going to nearly 10,000 veterans under the World War II and Korean War GI bills. Vocational rehabilitation for over 250 disabled veterans under those wars received 487,354, and miscellaneous VA expenditures totaled 16,077,809.

Iowa House Approves Revenue Bond Bill for Utilities
DES MOINES The Iowa house approved a bill allowing cities to issue additional revenue bonds for utilities before all existing bonds are paid, provided principal and interest on earlier bonds remain unimpaired.
