Preservation bid to save Cedar Rapids White Elephant Building

Cedar Rapids Historic Preservation Commission denied a staff plan to demolish the 135 year old White Elephant Building at 1010 Third St SE. The DeBooms were given two weeks to reach a deal with Konecny and Stroschine to save the building or demolition proceeds after the 60 day hold expires May 10.
