MidAmerican plans 1000 wind turbines in Iowa
MidAmerican Energy aims to add 2,000 megawatts of wind with 1,000 new turbines in Iowa at a $3.6 billion cost. CEO Bill Fehrman. Gov. Terry Branstad. and Economic Development Director Debi Durham announced at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, saying the project could reach 85 percent of annual customer sales in wind and be funded by federal tax incentives over 10 years. Negotiations on turbine locations are ongoing.
