Colleen Kralik Lewis died April 18 2016 at her Iowa City home at age 95. Funeral services are set for April 16 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may go to Zion Lutheran Church Music Department. She volunteered at Zion Mercy Hospital and the University of Iowa and worked in Chinese Oriental Studies and University Hospital pastoral services. She was survived by four children eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren and was predeceased by husband Richard Lewis and brother Harry Kralik. Arrangements by Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service.
Mary Jane Schrader died April 5 2016 in San Francisco of natural causes. Born November 7 1919 near Haverhill Iowa she lived in Marshalltown Iowa City Monticello Cedar Rapids and West Des Moines before moving to California. Survived by sons Stephen and Scott and grandsons Theodore and Alexander. Memorial July 8 in San Francisco Columbarium. Donations to Iowa Historical Foundation for Matthew Edel Blacksmith Shop.
Robert Ernest Paul, age 75, died at his home on Tuesday April 12, 201, after a life of service in the Air Force as a rotary wing mechanic and later as a machinist and supervisor. He married Judy Brody in 1963 in Cedar Rapids and pursued computer knowledge to support his children.
Robert Paul, lifelong Cedar Rapids resident, was remembered by his family who note his close friendship with Nest Paul and his role as a trusted confidant through life’s challenges. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene McHugh, son Randy Paul, daughter Lesa Paul, grandson Nathan Coe, granddaughter Destiny Cronebarger, and son-in-law Jon Peterson. Survived by wife Judy, brothers Gary McHugh and Denis Paul, children Robert Paul Kathy Cronebarger Justin Paul Lindy Peterson and Brian Paul, nine grandchildren, the family will hold a private service per his wishes.
Paul C Clark 61 of Marion died April 13 2016 at St Luke s Hospital. Services 11 a m Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Cedar Rapids. Survived by three sons two daughters a sister two grandchildren plus former spouses. Born October 27 1954 in Springville he worked as a supervisor at Amana and enjoyed fishing hunting and family time.
Charles Chuck Edward Babcock Sr. 77 of Mount Vernon died April 13 2016 at home surrounded by family. Funeral 10:30 am April 18 at Stewart Baxter with visitation April 17. Survived by sons Steve and Charlie daughters Cindy Teresa 16 grandchildren eight greats siblings and many nieces and nephews. Memorials to Stewart Baxter.
Jeannette A Weldon 83 of Cedar Rapids died after a long illness on April 18 2016 at Evergreen Estates III in Cedar Rapids Visitation will be held April 16 at Murdoch Linwood Funeral Home with a service following Burial will be at St Josephs Cemetery Parnell She was born March 9 1933 in Ames daughter of Byron and Ethel Ball She managed Cedar Valley Apartments for 14 years She married Thomas Weldon December 10 1983 in Cedar Rapids Survivors includechildren Irma Bell John Holder siblings and many grandchildren and great grandchildren Memorials may be directed to the family.
Donald C Fairbanks 94 died April 13 2016 in Anamosa with his family by his side Funeral services set for April 16 at St Patrick Catholic Church Anamosa Interment at St Joseph Cemetery Prairieburg Goettsch Funeral Home entrusted He is survived by sons Russell and Mark granddaughter grandchildren sister and other relatives He was born November 9 1921 in Monticello to Lest and Edith Fairbanks married Bernice Vanda in 1947 farmed in Cass Township and later worked at the Iowa Men's Reformatory until 1981 He enjoyed gardening mushrooms boating fishing hunting and travel including trips to Alaska and a moose hunt at 91 and a Mexico trip at 92 He is remembered as Grandpa with a quick smile and laugh.
Ruth Ann Nurre, 88, of Delhi died April 13, 2016. Visitation April 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Clifton Murdoch Funeral Home in Earlville. Scripture service at 1 p.m. Burial at St John’s Catholic Cemetery Delhi. Mass April 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St John’s Delhi, with visitation an hour before. She married Robert Nurre in 1948. they farmed in Hopkinton. Survived by seven children, siblings, 23 grandchildren, 31 great nieces and nephews. Funeral home obituary pending.
