Williamsburg men push shorter detour around 149 project
Williamsburg businessmen Charles Capper and Dick Archer urge IDOT to shorten the detour around Highway 149 reconstruction north of Williamsburg. They offer to finance a temporary low bridge and gravel access road, but IDOT says it is too costly and could extend the project. The longer route would affect local business and emergency services. Bids must be let by May 10 to finish the project this summer.
