Cambodians wounded and witnesses at a Red Cross hospital describe grenade blasts by Vietnamese troops during the O Smach battle near the border. Superintendent seeks more analysis on school reorganization

Cedar Rapids officials weigh delaying reform of the Cedar Rapids Community School District. Mercy Hospital opens 20 room outpatient care unit

Mercy Hospital in Iowa City has phased in a new 20 room outpatient unit on Market Street to handle same day surgical and medical care. It frees emergency rooms for true emergencies and serves patients from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. The project part of a 13.5 million expansion including obstetrics and a two level parking ramp. Outpatient surgeries at Mercy are rising from 971 in 1979 to an expected 2,200 this year.

Two Iowa Women Die in Weekend Pedestrian Crashes

Two Iowa women died in separate weekend incidents. Jo Ellen Hubby, 23, of Ames was struck by a Chicago and North Western freight train near the Ames district, with investigators noting intoxication. Karen Langenfeld, 37, of Council Bluffs was killed after being hit by a pickup on Highway 275. the driver, Joseph Carl Duisen, 26, of Omaha, was not charged.

Seven Linn County drivers charged with drunk driving

Seven people were arrested in Linn County late Saturday and early Sunday on drunk driving charges. The list includes Jeffrey M. Feisel 28 Tama arrested at 7 40 p m on First Avenue SE and charged also with failure to signal. Kenneth J. Tschopp 18 1006 42nd St SE arrested at J Street and 21st Avenue SW and charged with improper use of lanes and improper registration. Richard L. Olmstead Sr 38 Springville arrested on Highway 151 west of Springville and charged with license suspension and driving on the wrong side. Arthur E. Bass 22 Columbus Junction arrested 3 am Sunday.
