Double Amputee Charged After Striking Navy Officer
Philadelphia report says Lance Cpl. Charles Stewart a 19 year old marine double amputee at the naval hospital faces charges of striking Lt. Cmdr. Rose mary Geraghty during a blood sample incident on February 3. He says he was frightened and restrained by four corpsmen. The nurse also accuses him of using profane language and disrespect to a superior. Stewart, wounded August 1, 1970, after his unit captured a North Vietnamese hospital in Quang Nai province, is awaiting further proceedings.
