Seniors teach public speaking to Iowa City students
Volunteers from Elder Services Inc. RSVP train fifth and sixth graders at Weber and Lucas elementary in eight weekly sessions. Students practice impromptu speaking, etiquette, voice projection, posture and eye contact while writing and presenting position speeches on health related topics. The program uses student run roles and ends with feedback and post testing to measure gains.

The American Red Cross grant Wood Area Chapter hosts First Aid and Preparedness a Saturday morning class for families from 9 to 11 at 328 S Clinton St Suite 6 Iowa City. The $5 per person course teaches planning safety and disaster supply kit basics with preregistration open until Tuesday at 4 pm.
