Chase Ends in Death in High Speed Pursuit
Katrina Starr Nelson, 24, of 1040 Third Ave SE, died after a pickup crashed at Old Ely Road and Ely Road SW ending a chase that began at 3 22 am. The pursuit reached 95 mph on Highway 30 and through Cedar Rapids neighborhoods, with the vehicle clipping a tree and waking residents before ending. Police have not identified the driver or reason for the chase.
