Thomas 80th Birthday Reflections From Explorer Broadcaster
Lowell Thomas, the explorer, broadcaster and journalist, marks his 80th birthday with a lunch at the Regency hotel and a party at the Dutch Treat Club. He recalls a career spanning aviation, reports from the Middle East with Lawrence of Arabia, and a long broadcasting run dating to 1930. He emphasizes a life of adventure, learning, and constant work, and quips about his three song aversions.
