John Fritz, 82, Cedar Rapids resident for 35 years, died after a brief illness. Born Sept. 18 1889 near Atkins, member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survived by daughter Bernice Kessler, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren. Services Turner Chapel West at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. burial Raetz Cemetery Atkins. Visitation after noon Tuesday.
John O. Doran 76 of 2408 C avenue NE Cedar Rapids died Monday after a long illness. Born February 17 1895 in Eddyville he lived in Cedar Rapids since 1925. Retired state agent for Northwestern National Life Insurance Co he was a World War I veteran and member of Hanford American Legion St Matthew's church and the Honor able Order of Blue Goose International. Survivors include three daughters Mary Doran Cedar Rapids Mrs Gladys Thrush Milford Center Ohio and Mrs Joan Bridell Minneapolis two sons Ralph Doran Menomonee Falls Wis and Donald Doran Littleton Colo 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services 10 am Wednesday at St Matthew's Church with Rev Louis V McDonough burial Mt Calvary Rosary Parish Tuesday 7:30 pm at Brady Kuba funeral home where friends may call after 1 pm Tuesday.
Betty J. Guenther widow of Roy Guenther died Saturday after a long illness at University Hospitals Iowa City. Memorial services planned for 4 p.m. Monday at First Congregational Church with Rev. J. Richard Wagner officiating. She donated her body to the University of Iowa for research. Survivors include a daughter Mrs Jeff Peck of Madison, Wis a son Dennis David and Michael at home her mother Mrs Harry Lueth of St Petersburg Fla and one grandson. Contributions may be made to the church organ memorial fund.
Gayle M Porazil 40 of 299 Twenty fourth avenue sw Cedar Rapids died Sunday after a prolonged illness She was born in Shellsburg April 11 1931 and lived in Cedar Rapids since 1952 Surviving are her husband married in Cedar Rapids September 10 1969 a daughter Darlene four sons David Douglas Daniel and Dennis her parents Mr and Mrs Clifford Johnson and grandmother Mrs Otis Coy Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at Kuba funeral home east with Rev Canon D A Loferski St John s Episcopal Church burial Czech National Friends may call at Kuba east after 7 pm Monday.

The petition seeks medical, pain and suffering, loss of vision, and exemplary damages.
A survey on reapportionment following the 1970 census shows no clear gain for either party. Population shifts from the northeast and midwest to Florida, Texas, Arizona, and California, plus urban to suburban moves, did not produce broad advantages. California gained five new districts 3-2 Democratic while Florida added three seats split among Democratic Republican and toss up. Only 82 seats, about 19 percent, remained genuinely competitive, with most districts virtually assured for one party.
