Spending Law Reshapes Campaign Reporting Rules
Washington report outlines how the new campaign financing law replaces the old Corrupt Practices Act with tighter reporting rules, removes ceilings on committee funds, and imposes stricter disclosure for donations and expenses. It sets ad spending limits, filing deadlines, and rapid reporting for large contributions, signaling a shift toward greater transparency and heavier bookkeeping for presidential and congressional campaigns.
