Maurice M. Milligan former U S district attorney and anti Pendergast crusader announces candidacy for the Democratic U S Senate seat. He does not name Pendergast or lieutenants and says he will discuss campaign issues later while pledging to run on his record as a law enforcement official. Milligan resigned as district attorney last week.
The Cedar Rapids weather report notes a mild day under cloudy skies with a high of 58 between 1:30 and 2 p.m. temps fell to 48 by 11:15 p.m. Thin ice formed Saturday morning with a 30 degree low at 6:30 am.
