Cigaret and Beer Tax Revenues Rise in March

Des Moines reports cigarette tax revenue rose about 38 000 in March from a year earlier, while beer tax fell by about 10 000. Month to month, cigarette taxes increased 21 000 and beer taxes 5 000, totaling 395 656 for cigarettes and 212 400 for beer.

Eagle Scout Award Winner Ruddlesdin to Be Honored

Loren Ruddlesdin 19, son of Mr and Mrs Donald Ruddlesdin of Manchester, will receive the Eagle Scout award at a court of honor in the Methodist church Monday night. A Cornell College freshman and member of the Order of the Arrow, he earned Life Scout in 1950 and attended the 1950 National Jamboree at Valley Forge.
