Williams Denied by Ramspeck on Bureau of Internal Revenue Promises

Robert Ramspeck former Civil Service Commission chairman said in Washington that Sen. Williams is not telling the truth about promises of competitive examinations for top posts in the reorganized Bureau of Internal Revenue. Ramspeck testified on January 31, 1952 that Treasury could fill jobs by exam or by promotion from civil service lists and that qualifications were set high.
