Geocaching marks Linn County 50th anniversary hunt
The Linn County Conservation Department launches a year long geocache game for its 50th anniversary with 50 hidden caches across county areas. Iowa Geocachers assist, featuring monthly clues and a final cache, while players log finds and practice cache etiquette.

Peregrine falcon nesting season returns to Iowa
The Department of Natural Resources reports nesting has begun with four egg clutches. In 1989 12 active territories were recorded, 10 pairs produced 23 fledglings. Falcons recolonize historic cliff ledge sites along the upper Mississippi and Cedar Rapids.
