Iowa City Riverside Theatre presents The Beauty Queen of Leenane with Amanda R. Strope as Maureen and Jackson Doran as Ray Dooley. Rachel Lindhart stars as the mother in a sharp dark comedy of a mother daughter bond strained by circumstance. Performances run weekends through April 22.

Flynn Co. of Dubuque will build two Jones County roads totaling 12.7 miles. E-23 Amber Road will cost 1.07 million and begin by June 6, while X-40 Morley Road at 2.09 million will follow. E-23 limits minor bed repairs. X-40 widened last year.

Sioux City native Daryl Hecht joins Iowa Court of Appeals
Daryl L. Hecht, a Sioux City attorney for over 20 years, was sworn in as a member of the Iowa Court of Appeals in September becoming the court’s first from Sioux City. Hecht says the switch to judging is stimulating and shifts him from civil litigation to criminal, domestic, and administrative matters while maintaining a busy drafting and review schedule.
