Death on a train ends Cedar Rapids man's service to scouts
John H. Bormann 69 of 1950 Park Ave SE died of a heart attack aboard a Chicago and North Western train near Marshalltown at 9 05 a m Wednesday. A Cedar Rapids pioneer in Boy Scout work he held multiple roles including Archdiocesan chairman of scouting for the Dubuque diocese and Boy Scout commissioner. He was active in Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Conception church. He was born October 21 1877 in Clinton County and had lived in Cedar Rapids 33 years. He is survived by his wife a son four daughters and several grandchildren.
