Keep Christ Christmas Campaign Gathers Local Support

In Cincinnati area efforts to restore the spiritual dimension of Christmas gather momentum with the Keep Christ in Christmas campaign. Catholic and Protestant groups join civic partners to promote a six point plan including billboards window decals crib displays and merchant cooperation. Twenty percent of clothing collected during the Thanksgiving week drive goes locally with the rest sent to national aid channels through the Catholic charities network.

Archbishop Alter Launches Archdiocesan Catholic Men Council

Archbishop Alter declares the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Men offers Catholics in Cincinnati a channel to shape public discussion and support the bishops. Delegates at a 700-strong convention heard plans for a federation of parish Catholic Men units with national programs and expanded laity involvement.

Broad 19 Point Plan Aims Catholic Family Sanctification

The Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Men in Cincinnati unveiled a 19 point program covering family life education and public policy. The plan seeks to influence laws and institutions with Christian principles and urges parish units to discuss it in the coming year. Rev. St Stephen's Dayton Church to be Dedicated by Archbishop

St Stephen's parish in Dayton on Troy Street will be dedicated this Sunday November 16 at 9 30 a.m. Archbishop Karl J will celebrate a Pontifical Mass and preach a dedicatory sermon. The 43 year old parish has grown from about 100 souls to over 100 families and will hold a public banquet in the church basement after the ceremony.
