Resurrection Mass at St Monica’s Cathedral Easter

The mass titled Am the Resurrection will be offered at St Monica’s Cathedral on Easter Sunday with Rev James J McLarney preaching. Archbishop Nicholas will assist as celebrant. John T McNicholas and the Rehring parts will lead the Solemn Pontifical Mass. a 300-voice choir will accompany the ceremony and lay seminary members will participate. Stations of the Cross and presanctified ing precede the service.

Airman John H. Frey Jr. Killed in Action Over Germany

Casualties among archdiocesan service men reported nine listed, one missing, and three wounded. S. Sgt. John H. Frey Jr. died in action March 2 over Germany after completing about 33 missions. A high mass for him was held at Racmantiets church. he studied at Detroit University before joining the RAF in 1943. He leaves his parents Mr. and Mrs. John H. Frey and two brothers Kenneth and Garrett.

Brother Norbert Steckel Installed as Provincial

Norbert Steckel was installed as provincial superior of the Poor Brothers of St. Janus at the mother house in Mt. Alverno Cincinnati in a ceremony led by Honorius Lipps O.F.M. and Brother Joseph Schieffer. The service included the Atha recitation, the kiss of peace, and Te Deum. Steckel was born January 17, 1898 in Cincinnati to Frederick and Katherine Steckel.
