Triptych mural by Dan Acito to hang at Gethsemani monastery
A Cincinnati artist Dan Acito painted a 9 by 4 1 2 foot triptych titled Salve Regina for the Trappist monastery at Gethsemani Kentucky. The mural will be displayed in the Sheraton Gibson lobby Cincinnati June 23 to 27 before installation and is part of a fundraising event hosted by Friends of Gethsemani with a card party June 27.

Xavier ROTC Students Head to Ft Sill for Intensive Training
Xavier ROTC cadets report for a summer training program at Fort Sill to complete tactics instruction. The cohort, the largest ever sent by Xavier, advances and could commission second lieutenants in the reserve next year under Lt Col Tom C Shackelford.

Xavier University opens its first summer session with an institute on Psychological Values of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. The program runs June 25-27 from 2 to 3 30 PM with Jesuit professors guiding discussions. A Milford retreat tour is planned June 24 for participants. Over 500 students attend the session, which runs June 16 through July 26. A second session is scheduled July 28 to August 29.
