Literary monument to Archbishop McNicholas to appear

A literary monument to the late Archbishop John McNicholas will appear January 16 with Our Bishops Speak and other National Catholic Welfare Council materials. Archbishop Keough praises the volume as an inspiring record of Catholic thinking and leadership, compiling official pronouncements since the NCWC’s founding. The foreword notes McNicholas began gathering bishops statements but died before publication. The work honors his influence and is published for a wide audience.

Inaugural Meeting Sets Peace Veterans Group in Cincinnati

The Catholic War Veterans of the United States will launch its Cincinnati area post at the American Legion hall on Cleves Pike, Holy Family parish area. The event includes 7 pm start, 9 15 pm adjournment, free beer and lunch social, CWV state officers invited, and provisional officers to be installed with a talk on post aims. Archbishop Approves CCWA Lay Theology Course

The Cincinnati Catholic Women's Association will launch a lay theology series approved by the archbishop. Bishop Karl Alter will head the program, with Father Madget and a theology professor guiding sessions for lay women. Classes start Tuesday Jan 15 at 1 30 p m at 518 E Fourth St and meet twice monthly through May.
