The Fenwick council plans a council home after monthly meetings in Nativity parish school hall. A outdoor jamboree is set near Newtown at Mound View on Sunday as the council grows with about 100 new members.
Six men from the Archdiocese professed as friars in different locations on Thursday August 16. One from Cincinnati also took vows the same day in Oldenburg Indiana. Sister Virgila of the Sisters of the Poor of J Francis, longtime hospital superior, died August 15 after a long illness. She served at St Elizabeths Dayton from 1936 to 1944 and held multiple leadership posts in Cincinnati and New York before retirement. A High Mass will be offered August 18 at Barewell Convent with interment at Hartwell Convent cemetery.

Additional professed sisters included Sister Mary Florentius from Columbus and others connected to St. Urbana parish.

A former Cincinnati nun identified as Sister Marie Claire Caer a is bound for an African mission from her mother-house in Techy. She spent four years in Greenville and Meridian after leaving the El Cincinnati community.
Ten Canadian members of the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Africa arrive at the mother house in North Bay Quebec after a journey from Canada. The group joins local convent staff to begin their service in the region.
