Nunn Company Eyes Boysen Dam Power Plant Expansion

It is learned that the Wheelse company led by L. Ninn has an option on the Boysen dam near Shoshone for 6400,000. If the deal proceeds a transmission line will run to Casper to supply light and power, with franchise plans to serve Riverton Hudson Lander and other towns along the Northwestern and Union Pacific routes. L. L. Nwon visited last week and authorized Alexander to sign contracts with potential patrons of the new concern.

Duel Leaves Two Men Wounded Near Casper

Harvey Raby and Joe Holmes exchanged gunfire on a Wednesday night duel across Lee River from Casper. Raby was wounded in the leg and hand while Holmes suffered a severe scalp wound in the head. Both were hospitalized and await preliminary hearings.

Burlington to Start Regular Service Between Gasper and Thermopolis

The Burlington company plans regular trains between Gasper and Thermopolis starting next Monday the 20th. A northbound through train will depart Thermopolis in the morning and arrive Gasper in the afternoon, with a tri week trip schedule. Additional facilities, including a round house, depot, turntable, and large repair shops, are being built, and through service with Orin is expected after track completion.

Death from pistol accident near Gee

A hunting party three miles west of Gee encounters a fatal shooting when a homemade holster weapon explodes after the owner bends to pick it up. The deceased, Mr. Stevens, died shortly after being struck in the stomach. Coroner Foshay and a jury ruled the death accidental. Funeral services were held at Highland Cemetery. Other local items include church-building efforts in Casper and a charity kangaroo court at Wheatland.

White Convicted of Murdering Coffee in County Court

O W White, referred to as a negro, was found guilty of murder in the first degree after a trial in the district court. The jury, seated Wednesday after lengthy selection, convicted White despite his self defense plea. sentencing will follow in a few days. Other cases included John McCarty guilty of petit larceny and William Sanford found guilty of forging a check for 971.00.
