Two Graduate at Seventh Annual High School Commencement
The seventh annual commencement exercises of our high school were held at Odd Fellows hall last evening. The class of 1909 had two pupils, Mildred Hicks and John Trevett. Teachers, pupils and friends gathered for the ceremony marking completion of the common school course. The program opened with the band playing The Poet and the Peasant, followed by prayers and blessings. Isa bella Wheeler and Hazel Conwell sang a duet, Supt. Matheny gave the address, and the girls’ quartette performed. In W. O. Wilson’s absence, M. P. Wheeler presented the diplomas after a brief talk. A mixed quartette sang, Prof. Mendlesohn spoke and presented Prof. Matheny with a 40 piece silver service as a gift from Casper schools’ pupils and teachers. Rev J J Hicks closed with benediction.
