Casper Carnegie library opens amid crowd and celebration

An immense crowd attended Casper’s Carnegie library opening despite rain. The Civics Club ladies organized the event with music by the band and speeches by Mayor Kimball J E Schulte and C H Townsend. Profits from refreshments funded library fitting and book purchases under Mrs Sarah Plane.

Chicago and North Western opens new depot in Casper

Officials invite Caspers residents to attend a opening night at the new depot to celebrate the completion of the station described as a work of art. The Casper band provides concert and dance music with refreshments and tours of the building from baggage room to the superintendent’s office.

Wyoming leads the United States with about 7.5 million sheep, while Montana holds 6 million and New Mexico 5 million. Judge J M Carey visits the city and agrees to donate land for the district high school grounds. The plan secures blocks 90 80 and eight lots of 88 totaling about thirty three lots valued at over 0 000. A new street will run west from Co avenue forming the grounds south side with a north campus and athletic fields.

The death of 4 year old Luten Miller, daughter of Mr and Mrs E M Miller, occurred at 11 oclock this morning at the parents home. The community extends heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Casper buyers sweep Douglas horse sale for nearly half the lots

Fay and Davis of Douglas advertised a monthly horse auction in the Press. Casper buyers purchased many horses, including a work team bought by Hamilton and Gleason for 100, Wes McDowell bought five with total near 1200. McDowell praises the auction and the organizers.
