Territorial Engineer Siaul van leads Clarence Allery and John Enfield to segregate 39000 acres in Otero county near Alamogordo for a 175000 dollar irrigation project. Flood water from the Sacramento River would flow through a 2000 foot canal to an arroyo and natural reservoir site. a 6000 acre reservoir would hold over 100000 acre feet with a mile long embankment. Frank Bell of Pinos Altos, who sold the Philadelphia mine at Hanover for 975000, was bitten on the hand by a mad horse while preparing a trip to Mexico and Austin Texas for treatment at the Pasteur Institute. Bell left for Austin after confirming the horse's erratic behavior and a mad fox incident weeks earlier. A Roswell jury in the John Williams murder case failed to reach a verdict and was discharged after more than forty eight hours.
