Copper Mining at Esterbrook Creates Local Boom Hope

The Douglas Budget reports J. C. and W. A. Saul, once Converse county cattlemen, have spent thousands to develop a copper mine four miles northeast of Esterbrook into a high grade paying proposition and will ship ore to the Glenda smelter starting early next year. Assays suggest ore could net about 20 per ton above costs. The Saul brothers have 22 claims in one body, and a strong shipment could trigger a mining boom for Esterbrook in the coming months.

Midwest and Franco Wyoming oil firms to operate Wyoming refineries

The Midwest oil company says it will sell its refinery output on a large scale once completed. Northwestern railroad lines west of the Missouri river will burn fuel oil and use Midwest supply with tanks at division stations to Rapid City. Standard and Continental plan to buy refinery output for kerosene and gasoline, shipping with their own tank cars. The Franco Wyoming company advances Wyoming oil development with a pipeline to Medicine Bow and thirty eight producing wells. Construction of new tanks and line routes proceeds as surveyors map two potential Medicine Bow routes. Casper and Natrona county brace for an oil driven boom as refineries come online.
