Great Parade Climax in Grand Army Encampment

Salt Lake City August 11 presided over the forty third national encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic The parade included 44 departments of the GAR the Naval Veterans Ex Union Prisoners of War Army Nurses and 3600 children in a living flag. The crowd cheered wept and saluted as veterans recalled their Civil War service before a grand reviewing stand on Main Street. Fireworks and a massive Greetings gathering followed at the Mormon Tabernacle with Gov William Spry and Mayor John Bradford among speakers.
