The telephone line nears completion and will be in service within a week. Excavation advances to finish Saturday night with pipe laying to begin Sunday morning. Midwest Oil Company plans expanding tankage and a 65 000 barrel tank across the river.
Sheriff Sheftner returned from Lander in charge of Tom Crummer Volna Signor and Richard Dickerson three young men suspected in a western county horse theft ring. Two others, George Owens and H L Kuedler, were captured near DuHoise and brought to Lander. The party rode 710 miles in total with deputies, averaging over seventy five miles daily. The rustling spree had caused months of missing stock and officials aim to bring all guilty to justice.
Wyoming National Guard units including Casper Company H depart by special train to Camp Joseph M Carey near Wheatland for ten days of drills and hikes. multiple companies from Lander Cody Lovell Thermopolis Newcastle and others join before the regiment proceeds to Cheyenne for Frontier Days events.
