Wyoming Quarantine North of North Platte River Near Casper
The State Veterinarian under Wyoming law declares a quarantine area north of the North Platte River from the guide meridian west of Casper to the state line. Cattle are prohibited from crossing south of the river until dipped in an approved dip or inspected by authorities. Quarantine takes effect April 1, 1909 at 6 a.m. in Cheyenne.

Ida Hewes has been sick but now resumes duties as postmistress. A potential blaze at the Rhinoceros lunch room Tuesday night was stopped when a waiter acted quickly as a gasoline tank on a coffee boiler caught fire. it was carried out and thrown into the street, preventing a larger fire.
