Major F H DaCastro of Dougtan visited Casper to organize a Wyoming National Guard company. Over sixty young men signed petitions, targeting Company H. The parents pleaded for release while the boy, not yet a minor, is attending college at Philip's Academy Andover Mass. Mr James Foy arrived in Casper from Ireland after wintering there.
A 130 psi water pressure caused an 8 inch casing to collapse at 2800 feet depth in the Battram oil well while tools were below the paint, endangering the string. Head driller G J Bostaph has gone to Onaper to confer with E T Williams. A fix may be costly or a new hole may be drilled near the same site, but the company will not quit. Lander Eagle.
