Special to The Tribune. Cheyenne Wyoming July 16 The Cheyenne State Leader founded 1867 the oldest Wyoming paper was sold Thursday to Tribune Publishing by Leader Publishing. The State Leader will remain a morning paper and the Tribune will be an afternoon paper. the change shifts the Leader to independent from Democratic and keeps the Tribune Republican. The Tribune bought only subscription lists ads contracts and goodwill and will operate from the Leader plant which will be dismantled. Nearly all staff and assets moved with the sale to the new ownership.
Sheridan Wyoming July 16 Fred Walker dies after three weeks of life and death battles following a dispute over Osage field land. He was shot while removing a drilling outfit for another man and died in a local hospital. Authorities plan to file charges against those arrested.
Chicago wheat prices fell sharply today with December dropping to 82.00 a bushel and March at 2.04. The drop followed thin buying interest and strong selling pressure before midday, with about a million bushels changing hands and sea board demand cited.

Walter Berg a Moore Finery worker was injured in an accident at night and suffered head cuts. He was taken to the state hospital for treatment and is confined there. Police and officials have not reported any further details at this time.
A strong quake centered near Los Angeles rattled windows and caused minor injuries from broken glass. Tremors were felt across Glendale and Burbank with several aftershocks and reports of cracked buildings and panicked street scenes.
After two more quakes at 1 27 PM and later this afternoon injuries were reported among men women and children. Cracks appeared in tents and walls of several buildings and hospitals in department stores were filled with fainting and hysterical shoppers.
