Geology of Burnt Basin Notes on Prospecting

Kenneth L. Burnet reports in the Rossland Miner on the Burnt Basin district. He notes two parallel porphyritic dykes bounding auriferous veins with many prospect holes and strong surface indications. Claims such as Mother Lode, Tammany, Mecklenburg, Unexpected, and others show rich outcrops, with northern and southern basins opening for survey mapping next week. The oil route runs by rail to Gladstone and a government trail from Roseland covers twenty five miles in a day.

Post offices have been established at the City of Paris mine and Summit City. The rains and cool weather aid vegetation as travel into the Boundary country increases via Cascade gateway.
